Where are the Gardners Falls?

Tucked away along the Obi Obi Creek, Gardners Falls is a short drive from the heart of Maleny.

Head east along Obi Lane South (off Landsbourough—Maleny Road) to reach Gardners Falls from Maleny.

If you’re travelling from Brisbane, it’s roughly a 90-minute drive north, while those coming from the Sunshine Coast can reach the falls in about 40 minutes by heading inland via Landsborough.

Where to park at Gardners Falls?

There is a very small official car park for Gardners Falls, and I recommend you don’t rely on finding a space when you arrive. But if you do happen to snag a space, the good news is it’s free!

In the height of Summer, this place is jammed packed and expect to park on the side of the road, some distance from the official entrance to the falls.

Walking to Gardners Falls

Once you arrive, it’s just a short, easy walk of about 300 meters from the car park to the waterfall and swimming hole. It’s a beautiful walk to the falls alongside the Obi Obi Creek.

The pathway is mostly flat, making it super accessible for everyone, including young children, prams and even wheelchairs.

As you get closer to the falls, the track becomes quite rocky, and this part of the track is not suitable for prams or wheelchairs.

At Gardners Falls

At around 4-5 metres high, the falls aren’t super high, but high enough that you’ll see a few daredevils jumping in from unofficial rope swings.

At the bottom of the falls is a huge pool, perfect for swimming. The easiest way to enter the pool is to continue walking downstream, where you can wade into it.

As well as the main falls, there is another small waterfall as well as several shallow rock pools where you can splash about – perfect for young ones or for those who aren’t keen on being around all the crowds around the falls.

Along the side of Obi Obi Creek is a narrow bank where you might like to set up a picnic.

There are warning signs around the place to look out for broken glass, so it’s recommended that you wear water shoes if you enter the pool or creek.

Facilities at Gardners Falls

There is one unisex toilet next to the car park, so it’s not too far away if you’re down at the falls and need to duck back to the bathroom.

There are a few picnic tables scattered throughout the area too.

Please note that there is no drinking water here and dogs are prohibited at the falls.
